FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas baseball faces Kansas State tonight in the winners bracket of the Fayetteville Regional.

The Razorbacks (44-14) are the No. 5 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and beat SEMO 17-9 in the opener, while the Wildcats (33-24) are the regional's three-seed and beat Louisiana Tech 19-4 to secure its spot in Saturday night's showdown.

The pitching matchup is Arkansas' Hagen Smith (9-1, 1.48 ERA) versus Kansas State's Jackson Wentworth (4-5, 4.18). Arkansas will be the road team.

The Hogs had runners on second and third with one out after White's double, but Jared Sprague-Lott popped out and Ben McLaughlin struck out looking to end the inning. Kansas State leads 6-4 heading to the bottom of the eighth.

Seventh Inning

  • Ben Bybee sets Kansas State down in order. The righty has done a nice job preventing Kansas State from extending its lead. The Hogs trail 6-3 as we head to the eighth.
  • Jared Sprague-Lott hits a solo home run to give Arkansas some life, but Peyton Holt struck out to end the inning as the Razorbacks stranded runners on second and third. That's the fourth straight inning Arkansas has left multiple runners on base. It's 6-3 in favor of Kansas State at the stretch.
