How you can drive an F1 car on a race track and how much it costs - Times of India (2024)

While driving a Formula 1 car is nowhere as simple as just getting in and driving off as a standard city car, especially for an average driver with no racing experience, it can still be done - if the pockets are deep and there's a strong will. And where there's a will, TrackDays.co.uk has a way. The relaunch of thirteen driving experience packages has been announced, which allow participants to get behind the wheel of a single-seat Formula racing car.
With the start of the 2023 F1 season just around the corner, racing enthusiasts can now select one of the newly reactivated packages from TrackDays.co.uk, and drive a Formula 1,

Formula Silverstone

, or Formula Renault 2000 race car at one of the UK's famous racing circuits, including

Silverstone

, host to the

British Grand Prix

on more than 50 occasions.

Among the newest packages is a new variant of TrackDays' popular Jordan F1 driving experience. The latest F1 package provides drivers with an opportunity to sit in the co*ckpit of Jordan's 2002 F1 EJ12, originally driven by

Takumo Sato

, and learn how to handle the race car behind a pace car, as well as undergo other various training experiences on the day.
The Jordan F1 Driving Experience is currently priced at GBP 2,900 but is also marked with a 50 percent discount, ergo the experience would cost GBP 1,450 (about Rs 1.45 lakh). There are several drive experiences, for example, Formula F1000 which is priced at GBP 124 (about Rs 12,400).
