Clarke was signed to her first modeling agency at the age of 15. She is currently represented by Wilhelmina Models.

Clarke moved to New York after initially growing up in Australia — specifically in the Victoria country area.

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Heughan noted that romance was still on his mind while filming Outlander. "Yeah, I’m open to something," he shared in March 2022.

Although Clarke is active on social media, she explained that she wasn't looking for someone too present online.

“It shows that social media is not of importance to his personal life and leaves him being a lot more present in time,” she told DMARGE in October 2020. “Social media is part of my job, and some men are attracted to a girl purely based on her following, which I find shallow."
