The Merchant Alliance is one of the oldest factions in the pirate-themed video game Sea Of Thieves, but it's still relevant if you want to reach Pirate Legend and unlock many unique items. There are lots of ways to level up the Merchant Alliance faction; however, some ways are quicker than others. Here are the best methods you can use to level up in the Merchant Alliance organization.

The Best Ways To Level Up The Merchant Alliance Faction

There are many ways you can level up the Merchant Alliance faction, but these three methods have the quickest results. All of the following methods work better in the Devil's Roar section of the map since you receive better rewards while completing voyages and world events inside this part of the ocean.

The most important thing to do before using any of these methods is to put a Merchant Alliance emissary flag on your ship. This flag will grant you more experience whenever you hand in items to Merchant Alliance Senior Traders. You can raise the emissary flag by voting on the emissary table near the Merchant Alliance Senior Trader at an Outpost. Other ships can see your ship on their map when you have an emissary flag active.

Complete Deliveries

There are a few different ways to complete deliveries in Sea Of Thieves, but they each grant Merchant Alliance experience. The first way is by purchasing Cargo Run voyages from Merchant Alliance Senior Traders, who reside at Outposts. Then, you have to pick up the cargo from NPCs and deliver the crates to an NPC on a different island. You need to deliver the cargo by a certain in-game time and date.

You can also find cargo boxes on islands and as rewards for completing certain tasks; however, the Cargo Run voyages are the fastest way to gain experience with this type of delivery. Each type of cargo includes a unique challenge; you can't get the Cloth Crates wet, you need to store the Plant Crates in water, and the Bottle Crates shatter when you jump.

The second type of delivery is Commodity Crates. You can purchase Commodities from Merchant Alliance Senior Traders at Outposts and then sell them to other Merchant Alliance Senior Traders when you travel to a different Outpost. This method is one of the fastest ways to level up the Merchant Alliance faction. The inventory book next to Merchant Alliance Senior Traders can tell you which types of Commodities are at each Outpost and which types of Commodities they currently need.

Complete Skeleton Forts And Other World Events

World events are one of the best ways to get lots of loot in Sea Of Thieves. The two downsides with this method are that you won't earn Merchant Alliance loot exclusively, and other player ships can also see world events, so they may approach you while you're completing the event, which is especially problematic since you'll lose your emissary level if your ship sinks.

However, the risk is usually worth it because you get a lot of loot from each event, especially Skeleton Forts. Even though you won't receive Merchant Alliance items exclusively, world events are still a great way to level up any faction since you get so much loot when you complete one. Only one world event can be active at a time.

Finding world events is very simple because an indication of their presence appears in the sky while they're active. One of the world events with the best rewards is Skeleton Forts, which you can locate by searching the sky for clouds shaped like Skulls. Skeleton Forts mainly consist of fighting waves of skeleton minions, along with the occasional boss fight. After defeating the final boss at a Skeleton Fort, you'll earn a key that you can use to open a vault on the island, which will reveal lots of loot for you to load onto your ship.

Many other world events also reward you with Merchant Alliance items in Sea Of Thieves; here's how to locate the best events. You can find Ashen Winds by looking for a red tornado on an island; you have to defeat a powerful boss at this world event. Skeleton Ships are another world event that can drop Merchant Alliance loot. You can find Skeleton Ships all over the ocean, and they'll occasionally spawn right next to your ship. There are also Skeleton Ship fleets that spawn every once in a while; you can find these by searching the sky for a boat-shaped cloud.

Complete Lost Shipment Voyages

Lost Shipments are a type of voyage that you can complete for the Merchant Alliance faction. You can purchase these voyages from Merchant Alliance Senior Traders at Outposts. During a Lost Shipment voyage, you have to track points of interest across a stretch of ocean. These locations contain pieces of the puzzle that will help you track down the sunken ship, which contains your rewards.

Once you find the Lost Shipments, you have to dive underwater and collect all of the loot that resides on the ship. Once you load the items onto your ship, you can sail to an Outpost and sell the items to the Merchant Alliance Senior Trader. Lost Shipments offer a lot of loot, so they're one of the best ways to earn gold and Merchant Alliance experience.

The Merchant Alliance grants many unique cosmetic rewards as you level it up. However, Pirate Legend status is the most notable reward you can earn for leveling up your Merchant Alliance faction. You need to become a Pirate Legend before you can purchase Athena's Fortune voyages, and it's one of the most notable milestones in Sea Of Thieves. To become a Pirate Legend, you need to reach level 50 in the Gold Hoarders, the Order Of Souls, and the Merchant Alliance factions.

There are also commendations that you unlock for reaching certain milestones with the Merchant Alliance faction. There are 75 levels for the Merchant Alliance faction in total. The voyages you receive from the Merchant Alliance grant better rewards the higher your level with the faction.
