  • Smash Summit is a series of invitational tournaments hosted by Beyond The Summit (BTS). This series can be considered a spinoff of the popular DOTA Summit (formerly known as The Summit), which was first held in 2014. The series concluded following Smash Ultimate Summit 6 after Beyond the Summit's decision to shut down after the event. The tournaments typically consisted of a combination of top player invites and vote-in players. Historically, 16 players total participated in the tournament, but this number had gone as high as 20. The vote-in process had players campaign for votes from the community on start.gg. Proceeds from the voting campaigns and the start.gg tournament store were used to fund the event and also to contribute to the overall prize pool. The players participated in a variety of casual and competitive Smash-related activities, all of them livestreamed. The event concluded with a double elimination tournament. Smash Summit is also noted for using players in video skits which parody popular media or otherwise lampshade player tropes.

To achieve this, the tournament was held at the BTS House in Los Angeles, where the crew currently live and work. The tournament had a base prize pool of $11,600. A Donation Drive Shop similar to the Big House 5 Compendium was used to increase the singles prize pool to $32,929.
