Advising Smarter Use of Electronic Devices
In earlier years, Bill Gates has taken a stance on electronic devices and screen time for his children and live-streamed the experience on Facebook to show other parents. From spending time with his daughter playing outside in the sunshine to a great deal of screen time with her brothers, Bill has many reasons for limiting screen time. He told the Mirror in 2017,
“We often set a time after which there is no screen time, and in their case, that helps them get to sleep at a reasonable hour.”
Bill Gates said they are always looking at how it can be used in a better way, that is their homework and staying socialized with friends.
Steve Jobs, who created the iPhone and iPad, wouldn’t let his kids use either of these devices until his death in 2012. According to Walter Isaacson, author of the definitive biography Steve Jobs, the Jobs family had a phone-free dinner together every night.
